Meet Anna Purcell
Education and Experience:
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministry from Lee University and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. My background in both mental health and pastoral care equips me to walk alongside clients who wish to invite God into their healing process, while also supporting those who prefer a more traditional therapeutic approach.
Specialties:
I specialize in helping clients with emotional regulation, self-esteem building, anxiety, trauma, communication skills, postpartum mental health, and spiritual concerns. In sessions, I use practical, evidence-based tools like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and solution-focused strategies, but I also believe the most important part of therapy is feeling safe, supported, and understood. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where my clients feel seen, heard, and empowered as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healing.
What inspired you to work in this field:
I decided to pursue counseling after walking through my own mental health challenges. In those seasons, I learned how valuable it is to have someone who truly listens and cares. My personal mental health challenges have given me the empathy and understanding I now bring to every client I sit with.
What do you do in your free time:
Outside of counseling, I enjoy tending to my garden, cooking nourishing meals, and taking walks while listening to a good audio book.
What do you do in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy sitting on my porch with a cup of tea, reading, and diving into my studies. I love throwing my boots on to dig in the garden, do farm work, visit my bee hives, go kayaking, go for long drives in the fall, or do anything outdoors with my family. I believe that learning is a lifestyle and enjoy making the most of every moment.
