Education & Experience: BS in Psychology and MA in School Counseling from Regent University. As a former school counselor, I am experienced in individual and group counseling, psychoeducation, and working with mental health concerns that impact academics, including advocating for students within the school setting.
Specialties: Children and adolescents; anxiety, ADHD, spiritual issues, peer relationships, mental health and academic/school concerns, stress management, behavior modification, mindfulness, identity development, person-centered therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT/Tapping). I also utilize play, sand tray, and art techniques to help clients express and explore their emotions.
What inspired you to work in this field: A passion for helping others find their purpose and reach their highest potential. Personal experience with anxiety in my youth created a desire to help others with mental and emotional health concerns.
What do you do in your free time: Self-care, tending to my chickens and goats, gardening, reading, and learning. I enjoy trips to the beach, hiking in the mountains, and kayaking.
